Buried electrical line locating in Lafayette, IN
Find the wire to your garage, shed, or lamp post
If power runs underground from your house to a garage, shed, lamp post, or outbuilding, that wire is usually yours. 811 will not mark it. We put a transmitter on the line and trace it with our Milwaukee locator. Call for pricing — call or text (765) 551-7368.

Call 811 first
Before you dig, call 811 or put in a request with Indiana 811 online. It is free, and they mark the public utility lines — gas, power, water, and others.
We do not replace 811. We find the private lines they do not mark, like your sewer lateral, septic system, and wire you ran to a garage or shed. Use both.
What we trace
Private buried wire
The common ones we get asked about:
Detached garage
Power run underground from the house panel.
Shed or workshop
Wire to lights and outlets out back.
Lamp post
The yard light wire that nobody remembers.
Outbuildings
Barns, pole buildings, and other structures on the property.
We can also try to trace invisible dog fence wire and some sprinkler lines. Call and tell us what you have.

Short answers
Before you book
Do I still need to call 811?
Yes. Call 811 (or use Indiana 811 online) a few days before you dig. It is free, and they mark the public utility lines. We find the private lines they do not mark. Use both.
Will 811 mark the wire to my garage?
Usually not. Wire past your meter that you or a past owner ran is private. 811 still marks the utility’s lines, so call them too.
How much is buried electrical locating?
Call for pricing. Tell us what you are trying to find and where, and we will give you a price before we come out.
Can you find invisible dog fence wire?
Often, yes. Call and tell us what kind of system you have.
Do you repair the wire if it is cut?
We locate it. If it needs repair, we will tell you what we found and talk about next steps.
